A lot happened in NYC this week and on the @newyorkers page. We attempt to sum it up here in the @newyorkers column, always with a fun twist because New Yorkers are funny AF. Check it out:

TikTok Ban: TikTok was banned for one day this week. Before the ban, we went to Washington Square Park to ask people what they thought. Then, it was announced that it was really going to be banned, so people started preparing for the worst. When the ban happened, there were funerals in Washington Square Park. After 14 hours, the ban was lifted, so we headed back to Washington Square Park to ask people what they thought. Here is how New Yorkers felt when TikTok was back.
Subway Spikes: Last week, the MTA installed spikes in the subway system. We were the FIRST to report on this with our viral tweet that now has 17 million views. Later that day, we decided to check out the spikes for ourselves. We asked New Yorkers how they felt about the spikes, and that video went viral as well, with millions of views across all platforms. It's f*cking hilarious and it’s going to be a timepiece. Watch it here.
New York is COLD: It has been really, really cold. So cold that this rat froze. So cold that the Hudson River turned icy. This video shows how icy it is.
